Being successful with trading is a very difficult task for many and the only way to be successful in trading is to have some sort of edge in the market with a trading system one adheres to and follows.

Strategies were also fully tested with Monte Carlo analysis which provides a quantitative model for future performance.
Among the eye-opening general findings were that trend-following algorithms consistently performed the best. Additional findings, which go against conventional thought in trading and risk, were that stop losses and take profit levels greatly reduced performance and didn’t necessarily reduce risk and drawdown. In order to manage risk for not using stop losses, a smaller amount than one normally would trade was used for the tests. It was also consistently proven that using a long-only trading system had far superior performance in the market than short selling the markets. All trading testing was performed without margin or leverage, except for the minimum margin required for short selling.
